How soon can the hair be washed or styled?

The hair can be washed or styled immediately after receiving the treatment. As soon as you leave the salon, continue on with your life as normal.

Who are the best candidates?

This Professional Treatment works great on all hair types:  thick, thin, dry, chemically damaged, blondes, brunettes, straight, curly and all ethnicities. This professional treatment works on the porosity in the hair to improve the health of the hair by conditioning while smoothing the cuticle to eliminate frizz and create radiant shine. We know what you’re thinking, even coarse, curly hair? Yes! Smaller sections are taken and more heat is applied to more curly or resistant hair.

What about color-treated hair?
This treatment will actually improve the health of highlight, lowlight, or color-treated hair by conditioning from the root while sealing the cuticle.

Will it make the hair straight?

It depends.  The Treatment is not designed to be a relaxer, but a filler.  Think of it as repairing the hair, rather than straightening it.  If your hair is wavy, it will make your hair appear naturally straight and healthy. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz and loosen the curl. Either way, the treatment is primarily designed to create radiant shine and a silky smooth finish.

How long does it last?

The initial treatment will last up to 10-12 weeks, but the more times you have it done, the healthier your hair will be, making the results last even longer.

Will my hair lose volume?

Not if you don’t want it to. It depends on how close to the scalp the product is applied. So, if you want flatter hair, then yes they can lose volume by letting one of our professional stylists know. Otherwise, your hair will maintain its natural volume and you will still receive great bend and memory when blow-drying and/or using a curling iron.

Will my hair return to its original state?

Yes, the hair will revert to its original state after the expected 10-12 weeks. However, the condition of the hair will actually improve as a result of the fortifying and conditioning nature of the product.

Can the hair be colored the same day?

It depends.  Since the treatment acts as a filler for the hair by attaching structure into the damaged areas, you would not want to use anything that could block the process prior to the treatment.  Colors used to “freshen” or “tone” the hair act as fillers so these would not be done prior to the treatment.
Base colors: Base colors could be done first if you are only coloring the regrowth (roots). (Note: It is important to keep the treatment away from the new base color so it does not discolor and never pull the color through the hair since this would block some of the treatment.)
Highlights: Highlights could be done prior to the treatment as long as they do not require a toner to be applied.
Low-lights, Glosses, Toners are best used a week or more after receiving the treatment.
For Best Results: Give it one week to stabilize and your results will be more vibrant than ever before.

How much time does it take to do?

The Brazilian Silk Treatment takes approximately 1½ to 2 hours to complete and can be done every 3 months.

How should I care for my treatment?

We encourage clients to rotate the usage of their special needs hair care products with shampoos and conditioners especially formulated for colored or chemically treated hair.
