“Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.”- Sophia Loren

No matter what age, every woman should feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.

I think we can all agree that at any age, skin care should be our top beauty priority. Beautiful skin means less makeup, which results in a more natural and flawless makeup application.

Tip #1: Cleanse and moisturize daily!

Using a daily cleanser (such as Cosmedix, Benefit Clean) will dissolve access oils and dirt that builds up on the skin’s surface throughout the day. After cleansing, a great hydrating moisturizer with SPF during the day is essential (such as Cosmedix, Hydrate+.) Replenish your skin and soften fine lines before retiring to bed for the evening.

Tip #2: Achieve Flawless, Even Skin!

Are you still using the same foundation you were using 10 years ago but wondering why it doesn’t work as well as it used to? We love to blame the brand and say that they changed the formula without telling us, but in reality, our skin is changing. Our skin not only changes throughout the years but also throughout the seasons. That’s why we highly recommend having a winter foundation and a summer foundation. During the colder months, we recommend a foundation that is slightly more hydrating. During the warmer summer months, we suggest a lightweight CC Cream. Regardless of the foundation, less is always more. When applying foundation, don’t go too heavy as it can intensify the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Start with a light layer and build up the product to get the amount of coverage you desire. Your face will not only look more youthful but also will look very natural.

Tip #3: Make your eyes POP!

When asking guests how they usually do their eye makeup, I constantly hear “I can’t wear eye makeup because my eyes are too hooded, wrinkly, puffy, etc. …” FALSE! There is always a way to make your eyes pop! A great way to enhance the color and shape of the eye is to always keep the darker shadows on the outer corner. Placing dark shadows on the lid will make the eyes appear smaller. Lining the outer portion of the lid and lower lash line also will make the eyes appear to be bigger and more “awake.” Just be cautious of how far out you are bringing the pencil. Extending it out too far can add a droopiness effect to the face.

Tip #4: Brows! Brows! Brows!

Ladies, we all know the 90s had a big impact on our brows. They have since forgiven you and they are now in need of some help. The quickest and most effortless way to fill in those brows is a tinted brow gel. You would be surprised with how much a brow gel applied with fine short bristles will do for your brows! They will coat brow hairs that you didn’t even know existed. A brow gel also will help you find a little more definition. After using the gel, adding a brow pencil in areas where it’s needed can give you the perfect shape.
